Program Accessibility
Mercy welcomes students from all kinds of academic backgrounds into the program, including those admitted conditionally. Our conditional admit students can start on the path toward their degree while they tie up any loose ends including pre-requisites within the first year and other admissions requirements. This allows they to keep moving forward toward their degree. It's one more way we help open doors to this rewarding field.
Clinical Placements
Students put their classroom learning into practice through clinical placements at real-world sites. With access to over 250 partner locations, including major health and hospital systems in the NY metropolitan region and the Department of Education. Students gain hands-on experience in a variety of professional settings.
Strong SLP PRAXIS Pass Rate
With testing support built in to the program, you'll graduate ready to ace the SLP PRAXIS Exam and feel confident treating patients.
Speech and Hearing Clinic
The on-site Mercy Speech and Hearing Clinic provides students with individualized, 1:1 supervision and hands-on experience in evaluating and treating patients across the lifespan - from infancy to adulthood - with a broad range of communication and swallowing needs. In addition, the program features a dedicated Telehealth Clinic space, allowing students to gain valuable experience with emerging models of care and the evolving landscape of allied health services.
